Hi all, we would be assesing on the connector: Because today.

"Because" is used when one event is used to explain another.

"Because" is also commonly used in explanation on events.

Examples

1. Gary is sleeping. Gary is tired.

    Wrong example: Gary is sleeping because Gary is tired.

                                                        The word "Gary" must be replaced with a pronoun.

    Correct Example: Gary is sleeping because he is tired.

2. Tom forgot to study for the test. He failed the test.

   Wrong example: Tom failed the test because Tom did not study for the test.

                                    Replace Tom with the pronoun, he.    Replace test with the pronoun, it.

   Correct example: Tom failed the test because he did not study for it.
