Synthesis and Transformation(I)- Connector: And

I know that the connector "and" is most commonly used and most probably you would think I would be strange writing this post. But, in case you are new to this, or you just came back from the long holidays and need a new fresh revision, here is how to use the connector "and".

You use and when you are combining two sentences together.
Example of sentence without connector "and":

John is polite. Mary is polite.

Remember, when you are combining these sentences together, be sure of the tenses.
Correct example:
John and Mary are polite.
Wrong example:
John and Mary is polite.
                      are

Why "are"?
We use are because of the two subjects, John and Mary. John on its own is Singular, while John and Mary are plural forms. So, when using "and" as a connector, remember to check your tenses. Singular and Plural are different.

Notes

"And" can only be used in the middle as a connector.
"Singular" means one. Plural means two or more.

Exercise 3

1. Magadalene is hardworking. Gary is hardworking.
